Ald. Mell Announces Retirement

On Wednesday afternoon Ald. Mell announced his retirement from Chicago City Council effective July 24. Mayor Emanuel's press release states that he intends to appoint a replacement at that same council meeting. The mayor's office will be accepting applications during business hours from Friday, July 5 through Thursday, July 11th. The press release is available here.

    The online application for the Aldermanic Vacancy for the 33rd Ward may be found here.

    Applications may be submitted online until no later than 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 11, 2013.
