Representatives In Attendance
No representatives from the Alderman’s office were in attendance at this meeting.
Edward Pugh from City Council was in attendance.

Resolutions Passed:

Resolution: The 33rd Ward Advisory Council calls for a special election, in the spirit of democracy, for the 40th District IL State Representative seat, in the case that the seat becomes vacant.

Resolution:  The 33rd Ward Advisory Council calls that the next 33rd Ward Alderman attend the monthly Advisory Council meetings, report City Council matters at the meetings, and represent the needs of the 33rd Ward.

Ald. Mell Announces Retirement

On Wednesday afternoon Ald. Mell announced his retirement from Chicago City Council effective July 24. Mayor Emanuel's press release states that he intends to appoint a replacement at that same council meeting. The mayor's office will be accepting applications during business hours from Friday, July 5 through Thursday, July 11th. The press release is available here.
